Jane Lane is a character from Daria, an animated television series that aired on MTV from 1997 to 2002 and is portrayed by Wendy Hoopes. Jane is an artist and Daria's best friend. She and Daria become fast friends because of their numerous similarities. Jane is sarcastic, cynical, and does not express enthusiasm for much.

However, Jane is a bit more open-minded and willing to try new things. She participated in track and even changed her style a bit when she met a new guy. Although Jane can make these changes, she still remains the same at her core.

Her home life is mostly just her and Trent making it day to day, as their parents are usually gone for one reason or another. She focuses on her art and is supportive of her brother Trent's band. She is an amazing friend and a confident person, much to be admired.
